from ginger quilts to ginger designs
“just because i can doesn’t mean i should”
2019 is a year of change for ginger quilts, i had to pick what i could properly dedicate my time to instead of trying to do everything, crazy i know!
first, i will no longer be providing longarm services as Millie (my APQS Millenium) has found a new forever home where i know she is in the very best of hands.
second and third… i began working as a Janome Educator for Ontario in January and i was accepted as an Aurifil Artisan for 2019-2020, both exciting and busy positions which need a lot of my creative time and attention.
i will also be concentrating more on my illustrations with the intention of creating prints and designing fabric! next year i will be changing over from ginger quilts to ginger designs as i have always had a designer’s heart and while i love a lot about quilting, again, i cannot do everything…
and there will be changes to my website as i follow these new paths… it all comes from a realization that life is short, creative time is precious and remembering that just because i can doesn’t mean i should.
p.s. this is my version of Anna Maria Horner’s Dear Diary quilt which i created in May (creativebug course!) it reminded me of the simple joy of making a quilt block, however now that i am long-arm-less i will have to consider another option for quilting… perhaps my fabulous Janome sewing machine and a delicious heavier weight Aurifil thread???
